Better Clothes
Better Clothes is the framework I've been building to figure out how to address needs in my own wardrobe. And I would like to share it with you. You know the saying "how you spend your days is how you spend your life"? This is a sartorial extension of that philosophy.
We'll get to Better Clothes by addressing your everyday needs, so that getting dressed will become as intuitive as throwing on sweatpants. Here's how we'll identify and address our targets:
Raise the Floor
Take what you gravitate to on your zero effort days and find ways to retain that ease & comfort while making changes that feel more put together. A lot of us know how to look good when it counts, but when time is short, energy’s low and days are long, we’ll throw on things that make us feel less than great- so we’re starting the day from a deficit.
Raising The Floor ensures that you’ll feel good every time you leave the house while subtracting the mental effort it takes to Look Good everyday.
Uniformula
Create a formula for go-to outfits that will become your uniform. These are the core of your wardrobe that you go to for your everyday life, and we can create several versions (for work, weekends, walking the dog, special events, etc.)
Like any good recipe, you'll have the freedom to deviate completely to try something new or stick to the script with military precision depending on how adventurous you're feeling.
Some Strategic Upgrades
Lastly, we’ll work on a strategy for finding new pieces that are going to pack a lot of punch- maybe it’s swapping out an old tote for a new structured bag, maybe it’s finding some white boots to add fun to otherwise basic outfits.
This is where we stretch our comfort zone in a way that’ll make the clothes you already have really sing.
After we strategize on all these points, you’ll be able to use this as a reference when getting dressed, making a wish list and shopping for yourself in the future. My goal is for you to get to a point where getting dressed feels expressive, authentic, refined and easy.
